Footloose!

April 18, 2010

Footloose at the Midvale Main Street Theatre

The first week of the Midvale Main Street Theatre musical performances of Footloose not only exceeded our expectations, the audience responses have been magnificent as well.

This production has a terrific mix of  actors in their debut performances from our own community as well as many who have polished their abilities over years of live theatre performing. Regardless of the amount of time they have previously spent on stage, the performances have been delightful.

It is truly a joyful experience to see such dedication to live musical theatre performances. Footloose is fun in the fact that it has small-town atmosphere, yet an entire High School worth of students. The roles, themselves, are energetic and relatable to issues we all deal with periodically in our lives. There are a lot of roles and those who perhaps did not have a lead role this time around, feel happy for yourselves! You are a part of a major team effort. Without you, the show would not be the same. Every one of you continues to be an important addition to our Footloose cast and we look forward to this next week of performances with great expectations, excitement, and gratitude!

A slideshow featuring members of the cast of Footloose during rehearsals may be seen here. Footloose!

We do still have tickets available online for our performances next week and hope you all will join us!

Catching Up and Coming Up!

March 3, 2010

Hello Friends! We just wanted to take a moment and catch you all up on some of the recent events at the Midvale Main Street Theatre!

February was a huge month with All You Need Is Love! We also had a surprise performance at both performances of All You Need Is Love by Magician, Craig Campbell. You can click on these links and see fun clips of these performances!

We have redesigned and updated our kitchen and concessions areas and will begin having more selections for food as well as terrific gifts to support our performances available on a regular basis.

We have so many surprises coming up!

Poison Ivy Mysteries text

The first is the addition of a new production by Poison Ivy Mysteries! The new production, “DEATH…THE FINAL FRONTIER. MAY THE CORPSE BE WITH YOU,” will begin on March 19, 2010, at the Midvale Main Street Theatre at 7:00 p.m.

We are happy to introduce this Dinner/Theatre production that is certain to be an outstanding addition to our establishment.

The folks at Costa Vida are catering this event and will be serving their Costa Fiesta…you will have a choice of a Large Burrito with either chicken, pork, or beef with rice, beans and fabulous garnishes (lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, guacamole, salsa, etc.) -or- a chicken, pork, or beef salad with crunchy corn chips and cheese, rice, and beans! Costa Vida

Now, the best part…the cost for this entire dinner/theatre event just as it is addressed above…$20.00 per person! What a terrific way to spend the evening doing something completely new!

That’s $10.00 for the theatre production and $10.00 for the meal. By the way, they are independent of one-another. You can see the production (and only pay for that) if you so choose.

We will also have our concessions stand open so that if someone in your group would rather have something different, we will have that available, too!

To purchase tickets for this production, please click on this Poison Ivy Mysteries Link.

A Beautiful Beginning for 2010!

January 1, 2010

As we toast in the New Year at the Midvale Main Street Theatre, we recognize the magnificent year we have had, the strides we have made, and the friends and family that we cherish. We commit to continue building upon a community platform that develops space for those who have creative endeavors surrounding live theatre and the devotion to put those desires into action.

Our New Year’s Party was warm and personal with old friends and new friends (who are certain to become old friends). We are grateful for Angelo, Sarah, and their wonderful family who provided outstanding authentic Italian Cuisine and live music that made our hearts sing. For those of you who are looking for a fabulous night out, this family runs the restaurant on State Street in Murray called Nonna Lucia’s and we highly recommend it.

Thank you to all of those who shared this night with us and to all of those who were here in spirit.

We are setting our sites on developing 2010 to be a year to remember with fondness and joy! Thank you all for being a part of our lives.     -Tammy & Stephan Ross
